Upselling is
a very simple concept, you just need to implement it. Upselling
-- Offering another product or an upgrade to your product right before
the customer makes a purchase. Upselling can increase your profits
more than 54%.
If you aren't upselling
you are losing money. This of course is BAD!
So how do you Upsell?
Simple. On your website
when someone clicks order or checkout simply have it direct the customer
not to input their information but to give them a "discount" or "Special"
that compliments your main product. If you sell information the most often
used upselling is selling master reprint rights. Simply allowing the buyer
to choose a standard or discounted master reprint rights option.
If you sell say,
books. When the customer goes to checkout have it list books by the same
author and offer the buyer a discount if they purchase the other book(s)
right then. The customer is already in the frame of mind to buy, what's
an extra $10 or $20? In this state if they are even slightly interested
you win and they win. They get a discount and you get more sales..
