Everyone will run into it. If you don't already sell information... REFUNDS!

Dreaded are they not? I know I hate them, especially when it's obvious the person just wanted something for free. This is something we in informational sales experience 100 times more then people selling tangible goods.

So yes, there are downsides to selling intagible products. I can't remember the last time I read someone say there was! I think they may have been too busy trying to sell you, then tell you the bad things!

Anyway, there are many way you can handle refunds. Most obviously, just give them there money back!

Whether you like it or not you are running a business. You have to abide by the laws that comes with running a business. Most of them are just a nucense and some will end you up in court!

You don't want to go to court. So follow the laws. Mainly I am referring to your 30-day return policy!

You MUST by law return the customers money if they are not happy with the product for 30-days unless you have a clause that explains how the customer must return something. (You know like lost receipts, broken products.

Anyway, your not going to have this usually unless you sell tangible goods, so basically with informational products we are stuck with 30 days no questions ask about it! They really can't break the information so you have no lose when refunding.

But, the good news is. You can do a few tricky things instead of refunding the customer offer them something of equal value!

Now we are selling information so it's no lose to you if you have to give one your other products away!

This is GOLD!

I want to give you an example of what I email to a customer that asks for a refund.

Subject: RE: Refund request

Hello John,

Please send me your receipt first to make sure you purchased
it from me. Your Order # will also work just as well.

The book comes with resell rights so you may have bought it
from a third party.

If you did purchase it from me let me ask you something.

If I told you I would let you choose another one of my ebooks
instead of a refund from my collection. Would you then agree?

Go to http://www.digitalpaperproducts.com and choose one.

Otherwise please login to the members area and fill out a refund
request and I will immediately refund you.

Don't forget, send me your receipt!

Now, obviously if you don't have a site like mine to send them to
you simply could list the products you have with a link to more information
about that particular product.

Listen, this really works and I have seen a lot of other well known
marketers doing the same thing. You have to at least GIVE IT A TRY!
